Player Tools

Player tools are needed for gathering, building, defense, moving resources, and working with recipes.

Weapons

Weapons can be assembled in a conveyor-like way from cycles, multipliers, sights, projectiles, and materials.

Parameters:

  1. Sights: optical, infrared, magical.
  2. Projectile types: rockets, bullets, plasma, railgun, flamethrower.
  3. Projectile contents: explosives, liquids.
  4. Materials affect mass, recoil, and durability.
  5. A badly assembled weapon can explode in the player's hands.

Replicators

Replicators are building modules.

Capabilities:

  1. Different tiers for different grid sizes.
  2. One-time and cyclic building.
  3. Templating existing buildings.
  4. Building speed depends on energy and voxel count.
  5. Fast prop construction through a one-time object, for example a house grenade.
  6. Filling large spaces with props from different categories.
  7. Creating props by whitelist and blacklist.
  8. Compressing a region of space for storage as a storage prop.

Filling modifiers:

  1. Randomization.
  2. Landscape types.
  3. Decay level.

Gathering

Gathering tools:

  1. Syringes.
  2. Flasks.
  3. Drills.
  4. Chainsaws.

Backpacks

A backpack can provide:

  1. Storage access.
  2. Energy storage.
  3. A communication portal at later levels.

Exoskeletons

Exoskeleton capabilities:

  1. Force fields.
  2. Built-in medkits.
  3. Places for attaching props.
  4. Carrying capacity.
  5. Protection from certain projectile types.
  6. Protection from external conditions: lava, water, hot gas.

Voxel Crafting

Voxel crafting from resources should preferably be split into tiers: from ground crafting to CNC-machine crafting.
