Prop Workshop

The prop workshop is an editor that lets the player create prop recipes inside a defined region of voxel space.

Recipes

Core recipe mechanics:

  1. An initial recipe can be created from an IRL photo and then edited.
  2. A finished recipe can be parameterized with tags, properties, and other settings.
  3. A recipe can be converted to STL.
  4. Game objects are created from a recipe and resources.
  5. A recipe can contain other recipes as primitives.
  6. Recipes can be connected to each other on the voxel grid.
  7. A recipe can be viewed from different angles: kinematic diagram, material diagram, electrical diagram.
  8. A recipe can have parameters to fill in.
  9. A recipe can have a compressed size: voxel size inside the grid changes, but mass is preserved.
  10. Before release, a prop needs a test run in the world so the recipe does not break game worlds.

Editor Tools

  1. Pattern generator for trees and similar structures.
  2. Filling brushes.
  3. Materials.
  4. Kinematic interactions.

Kinematics:

  1. Rotation.
  2. Turns in different planes.
  3. Parallel movement.
  4. Circular movement.
  5. Distance movement.

Materials:

  1. Solid.
  2. Liquid.
  3. Gaseous.
  4. Functional: pipes, cables, optics, connectors, lasers.
  5. Shells for spheres.
